Public notice of Plan Change 6

HH Public Notice

In accordance with Clause 5 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Hastings District Council has prepared a proposed plan change to the Hastings District Plan to be processed through the Streamlined Planning Process pursuant section 80C of the Resource Management Act as amended by Clause 16 of the Severe Weather Emergency Recovery (Resource Management – Streamlined Planning Process) Order 2023.

Plan Change 6 – Category 3 Lifestyle Subdivision Provisions for Displaced Owners Hastings District Council advises that Plan Change 6 ‘Category 3 Lifestyle Provisions for Displaced Landowners is now notified for public viewing. Members of the public are able to make formal submissions to the plan change. Plan Change 6 introduces changes to the following sections of the Hastings District Plan to enable an easier pathway through the subdivision process for the creation of lifestyle sites within the Rural and Rural Residential Zones. The Plan Change will directly assist Category 3 landowners who have reached a voluntary buy-out agreement to achieve permanent replacement housing while allowing them to remain in the community from which they have been displaced.

The proposed plan change may be viewed and submission forms obtained in the following ways:

  • via Hastings District Council website; see: www.myvoicemychoice.co.nz
  • at Hastings District Council Civic Building, Lyndon Road East, Hastings; or
  • Hastings District Council Libraries.

Public submissions will open on Saturday 24 February 2024 with the closing date for submissions being 5pm Friday 22 March 2024.

Once all submissions have been received, the Council will make copies of the written submissions received available for viewing on its website. A hearing will then be arranged to consider all submissions and recommendations. Any submitter will have the right to attend and speak at any hearing. Any person who has made a submission has the right to appeal the decision but only on a point of law.
