Opposite Karamu High School and bordering local waterpark attraction Splash Planet, Windsor Park is a popular spot in the summer for a game of cricket or to kick a ball all year round. With new pathways wrapping around the edge of the grassed sports fields, Windsor Park is great for walkers, runners or bikers. If you’ve got time for a stroll don’t forget to follow the stream around to see the ducks and the beautifully kept rose gardens at the park edge on Terrace Road.
The latest addition to Windsor Park is the Lions Community Playground, opened in November 2015. The Lions Community Park is a revival of Fantasyland and is a joint project between Hastings Host Lions Club and Hastings District Council. The fully fenced playground includes a climbing web, a bucket swing, a pirate ship, slides, a large combination unit, toddler train, hip hop and a free community BBQ for families and groups to enjoy.
