On the roads front, 107 kilometres were damaged in the cyclone - the vast majority in the rural area - affecting 60+ kilometres of sealed roads; the rest unsealed. Our contractors are working their way through the road repair and rebuild list, prioritizing based on the level of vulnerability in new weather events, and level of road use.
As well as a focus on the rebuild, we are continuing our normal maintenance work. Drains are being cleared and sprayed out, and trees are being trimmed off the road corridor.
Please continue to report potholes (06 871 5000). As you all know the wet weather continues to cause disruption and we look forward to sunny days as we accelerate our work programme.
