Tainui, Tanner, Tauroa and Hikanui Reserves
Known for their scenic tracks, these reserves are all located close together in the hills of Havelock North and are characterised by their natural beauty, forested valleys and plantation style. Combined, they have a total area of 23.791ha, with Tainui the largest reserve at 16.4ha.
Tainui, Tanner, Tuaroa and Hikanui Reserves are all permitted off-lead areas for dogs, making them a popular location for walking, biking or running with your four legged friend. They are all considered Natural Open Space Reserves and therefore maintenance is limited in these areas other than for pathways, weeding and trees.
