A Hastings District Council community forum in September will provide attendees with knowledge as well as practical skills to help them raise funds for their charity or community groups.

The forum focusing on fundraising will be held in the Council Chamber at 207 Lyndon Street East on Friday, 4th September from 11am - 1:30pm

Hastings ratepayers have been given an extra two weeks to pay their rates bills without penalty, to help them adjust to a new quarterly rates payment scheme.

Details of a regional planning project for urban growth have been released today. The Heretaunga Plains Urban Development Strategy (HPUDS) is a combined effort by the Hastings District Council, Napier City Council and Hawke's Bay Regional Council to plan for urban growth in the years ahead. In the past, Hastings and Napier have planned for such growth independently.
