This morning, Hastings District Council adopted its Draft 2009-2019 Ten Year Plan. Council wants residents of Hastings to tell it what they want the future of Hastings to look like.

Rural Fire authorities and the New Zealand Fire Service have decided the fire risk has dropped enough to return to an Open Fire Season.

As of 8am on Friday morning it won’t be necessary to get a fire permit for fires in the open in both the Hastings District and Napier.
