Omarunui Landfill is Hastings District and Napier City Council’s jointly owned Landfill. In operation since 1988, it is a first class landfill with extensive pollutant control and practices in place to ensure effective environmental protection. Check out the video below to find out how our Omarunui Landfill runs.
The landfill is only open 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday to commercial operators/contractors with a Waste Disposal Licence. Members of the public are required to take their waste to one of the local refuse transfer stations.
The disposal costs for all commercial/industrial trucks and trailer units can be found on the Omarunui Landfill Charges page.
Omarunui Landfill is committed to providing an environmentally responsible waste disposal site for Napier City and Hastings District which safely contains all waste on-site, complies with legal requirements and seeks to continually improve environmental performance.
