Omahu Road Industrial Rezoning


Hastings District Council has prepared a variation to the Proposed Hastings District Plan and an associated Notice of Requirement (NoR) for an infrastructure servicing corridor at Omahu Road North.   Decisions on Submissions were released 25 March 2017 and it is within the appeal period, closing 10 May 2017.

Variation 1 sought to rezone some 63 hectares of land from its current Plains Production zoning to a General Industrial Zone. The land affected by the Variation is located is located on the northern side of Omahu Road, Hastings (from south of Raupare Road to a point north of Kirkwood Road). 

The NoR to designate land for an infrastructure corridor running along the rear of land to be rezoned is now confirmed. It will be listed in the District Plan as D161. The corridor will provide for the water, waste water infrastructure and the stormwater swale to service the General Industrial Zone proposed under Variation 1.
