Asians in the Bay Awards
The Asians in the Bay awards recognise the contribution of the Asian community to the economic development of Hawke’s Bay. The awards also celebrate the efforts of groups and organisations which have helped promote their own particular culture.
The awards are organised by Multicultural Association Hawke's Bay to promote the importance of unity, cooperation and the creation of a culture of excellence within the Asian business and professional communities. The award recipients will have reached the very highest levels of achievement in their field and demonstrate the potential and unique identity of the Asian community.
Back by popular demand for 2016 is the Best Asian Restaurant category.
The 2016 awards keynote speaker is Dr Ruth Souza, Stream Leader for Research, Policy and Evaluation at the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health in Melbourne.
The ‘Asians in the Bay’ award categories are:
- Best Asian Business
- Best Asian Restaurant
- Best Asian Community
- Best Asian Practising Professional
- Best Asian Student (Secondary School)
- Best Asian Tertiary Student/Graduate
The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 8 August at the Havelock North Conference Centre at 6pm.
